it was warren's birthday last weekend,

one could say it was a whole weekend of celebration.

on the eve of his birthday,

it was just the two of us with dinner at banri.
then a dessert date over at dolce.
i had their mango brulee while warren had their smores.
am sorry but i don't understand the fuss over dolce.
yes, the place is nice.
perfect ambience for coffee, some dessert and catching up with friends.
but their cakes, were not much to rave about.
i mean, one could get better dessert fix somewhere else.
i guess in this case, ambience wins!

we went home right before midnight,
so warren had the chance to blow his first mini birthday cake at home.
this cake we got from madeleine at waterfront hotel & casino - lahug, 
it's their gateau and this is all so worth it!
moist chocolate cake, rich choco mousse & creamy custard filling!

that we served after dinner with his family on the day of his birthday.

you might notice the blueberry cheesecake at the back

and think that it's too much dessert for one evening.

then, you don't know how big warren's family is.

both cakes we also got from madeleine

though they might be a little pricey, their cakes are all definitely worth it!!!

we headed down to alchology to celebrate with his friends.
they just opened their new VIP lounge.
it has about four lounge sets,
it's own comfort room and soon it's own bar.
truly, you'll feel like a VIP being there.
you enjoy the music, feel the energy of the crowd
but in your own little party space.

and this bottle of johnnie walker was followed by two more
that we all ended up so plastered, it was a riot!

i would have wanted to post some photos of the evening

reporting that the memory card used that night got busted.

goodbye july

saying goodbye to july is specifically moving forward 

from a week that was full of unexpected incidents.

if you've noticed, i wasn't able to blog nor take outfit photos last week

because of so many circumstances that practically hindered me on my daily grind!

clients showing up at the office unannounced

errands that took longer that expected

AC problems at the office

going to the mall unplanned to buy new AC

--- these are just but a few incidents that seem to have side-tracked my week's sched

most of all, it was warren's hospital admission & emergency surgery due to hernia

at the end of last week that really shook me.

everything happened so fast!

we went for a check-up, asked to go to the ER for hernia reduction

then three hours after he was scheduled for surgery in the next two hours.

it had to be right away, so as to prevent further complications.

it was just a minor surgery though, as he was discharged the next day

… which is a good thing!

anyways, this is what i wore last monday.

wanting to feel good especially after the whirlwind of last week, 

i thought of wearing my favorite necklace

which i got from bangkok a few years back.

it just so happen that i have a blazer with somehow the same colors as my necklace

which is just lovely!

and these shoes, i fell in love with at first sight… 

and i got them at a very affordable price!!!

i know i said i am gonna blog about other things

which i should do

just that i should first get a hang of taking photos of my food

or other stuff that i do.

i seem to always forget while in the moment,

and only remember when am already blogging.

geez!

this may really take some getting used to…

let's wait and see…

the dress am wearing are one of the "pasalubong" from my mom…

i have been so excited to wear it since i got a hold of it last monday!

but then, cough & fever got the best of me

that i submitted to three days of bed rest :(

then today seemed a perfect day to wear the breezy dress

as it was bright & sunny when i woke up…

much to my surprise that when we got out of the house, 

until we shot these photos, it became windy & cloudy!

the gusts of wind may have added drama to the shoot,

but the rain that came right after

stood in the way of some of the errands me & warren had to run to.

i should have worn some booties & blazer today due to weather conditions,

but i love this dress so much that i couldn't care less!

it was a strange day at the office…

two can't-look-you-in-the-eye moments with clients in a span of 2hrs!

the first one was dumbfounding!

but something i can't talk about publicly, 

{sorry}

the second one was quite sad…

it pains me talking to a teary-eyed bride and trying to explain to her

why her wedding invites were not ready yet.

what's worst, i had no freakin' idea what happened to the account

and the point person was on leave and wasn't answering any of our calls!

i couldn't even apologize to her just yet, 

i really couldn't look her in the eye!

i was scrambling for options on how to improvise her invite design

 so she can get at least twenty sets for her mom to bring

on a provincial trip this morning.

the heavens were in my favor!

i got her to smile even if it was after almost an hour, 

we were able to provide her with the initial twenty she badly needed

and somehow, changed the whole look of her invite,

which was actually better than the first

and she was happy with it.

full delivery will be next week, as promised, i'll make sure of that!

oh well, i guess that should count as

another day's work…
