this is probably the second time i've worn these shorts.

dyed it ombre yellow-pink last summer when ombre became really hot.

too bad my photo don't seem to do the colors some justice due to poor lighting conditions.

my bad, as i only remembered having my outfit shot

right when the sun went down.

shangri-la's mactan island resort and spa has always been 

a favorite of me and warren for a day or two of relaxation.

if only it was affordable!

so we save stays at the resort for special occasions, like my pre-birthday weekend.

on the first day, 

as much as we wanted to get out of the room and lounge by the beach

the weather was nowhere near cooperative with rain showers.

so i succumbed to my reading by the room's balcony

while warren occupied himself with his online stuff.

it was still relaxing as it should be, sans the sun & the beach.

the second day it may not have been as sunny as we wanted it to be

but no-rain was enough, for us to enjoy the beach.

as for the book i started reading,

i would wanna give my little review of it soon.

unlike most of my other outfits, this one was not inspired by the shoes.

it was more about the red shorts, with emphasis on the red.

from there embarked the whole sailor pegged outfit.

sans the sailor hat.

there's virtually three pieces of red garments in my closet.

two tops that i wore only once to each of my in-law's birthdays this year,

{ wearing red is stipulated in chinese traditions during special occasions }

and these shorts that i got two months ago.

evidently, red is not my favorite color.

not that i hate it, just that am not that attracted to it.

a choice very well proven wrong by these shorts.

this may be the beginning of having more red in my closet.

reds that i buy because i want to, and not because i have to.

btw, am not sure if you've noticed but the pockets of these shorts

seem to be a tribute to mickey and minnie mouse.

warren said the same thing.

a sun shiny morning so it seems...

and i wanted to wear these open toe booties.

so i wore shorts and the chiffon top with it

to attenuate the heat from our perennial tropical climate 

and the leather of the shoes!

if only it doesn't chip so easily...

it only lasts me a day or two and i had to re-apply again.

good thing though, the rubi nail polish dries faster than our local brands

and the brush glides so easily for faster polish application.

one way to make nail polish chip less is applying a clear base before.

but am not really a fan of bases as it could cause nail discoloration.

so i'd rather re-apply nail polish or none at all

rather than get discolored or yellowish nails.

i hate routines 

but it seems that me and warren have one little routine 

before stepping into the office.

we pass by la marea in crossroads for coffee ---- always!

it's where we do our unofficial affairs

that we know we won't be able to do once in the office.

i guess, it's where we find peace before the chaos that is work.

plus! la marea's internet is quite fast, so things get done faster!

the usual la marea favorite is their warm brownie cup,

we order that sometimes but it could get filling especially right before lunch.

so, while warren gets his usual brewed coffee,

i alternate between their cappuccino frost on hot & sunny days {which is more often}

and twinning's four red fruits hot tea on cold & rainy days.

i love coffee, 

that i used to drink three to four cups a day.

used to, because right now, since a couple years ago,

i am limited to a cup in the morning.

any more or any later than that,

i will be up till the sun rises the next day.

insomnia sucks!

anyways, even with a start-of-day routine

i am happy to say that after office activities always has different s**ts on different days.

proof enough that we are still not stuck in a rut!

for this day, it was a movie date for "bourne legacy" as promised,

after i flaked out on warren last sunday when we were supposed to watch it with his friends.

of course, before the movie is dinner… mongolian style!

i can talk about the movie, but there's not much to say…

not that it was bad, just that it wasn't much to rave about.

it did show the worst of the philippines,

which made me cringe, sorry but that's the truth!

but nevertheless, it still made me proud 

that somehow we were chosen to be a setting for a hollywood film

when they could have done it somewhere else.

last friday night

i've been finding a way to wear these booties since i got them last june

at the blogger's united bazaar 3.

the best thing about it, i got it for a steal from divine lee's stash,

and of course they are original JC's!!!

thanks to my dear sister who had the strength to go around and search.

this one is pre-loved but it is definitely being loved by me right now, 

and even longer.

so, back to last friday night,

 the loft had a party launching the grey goose lounge designed by kenneth cobonpue.

free flowing booze! what's not to love! 

except for a minor set-back when glasses became scarce at some point

which left people parched and waiting.

but a small price to pay for, again, free booze!!!

they were also serving food by chef guiseppe

which is definitely something to try

and even more reason for you to visit the loft for dinner before drinks.

dj friend from manila, jessica milner pumped up last friday's party. 

and we had fun, after a while of no clubbing.

oh, on that note, it may be because people haven't seen me out for a while

that there's been rumors going around that i just had a baby!

what?!! i haven't even been pregnant yet! i wish!

not a bad rumor anymore

since am married and it's legal to get pregnant,

but it was definitely a good laugh!

"The Dark Knight Rises" - the third and last installment {so they say}

of BATMAN Dark Knight premiered yesterday

and my geeky-comic-freak husband needs to watch ASAP!

the movie proved to be worth it,

though personally i still liked the first installment better. 

{the one with the late heath ledger as the joker}

this one was way too long {two hours and thirty minutes} that i got really sleepy

but it was interesting enough that i really struggled to open my eyes.

after the movie we needed to grab dinner,

first choice was IRIE but it was almost ten in the evening 

that they ran out of their specialties,

so we ended up at ARMY NAVY.
it was only my second time here, 
their food is not bad but not that good either.
i mean, it's not something that you actually crave for.
i know a lot of people love it here, and i'm not one of them.
it's just that i've tasted better burritos and burgers.

no more drinks after that…
so we headed straight home before twelve midnight.

and now, its almost three in the morning 

and i'm very much tied to editing the design of this blog…

no major alterations though, just adding a few widgets here & there.

yet it's proving to be a bit challenging with my little knowledge of html & what-nots!

and warren had to comment, it seems i will never be done editing details in this blog…

i wanted this, so i had to do it… outfit shots i mean :)

they say there's always a first time for everything… 

not to preempt that am gonna ask that you indulge me in however awkward this shot seem.

i wear whatever suits my fancy to the office since we have NO DRESS CODE… sweet!!!

{plus, i know the owner **wink**} 

even if i can get away wearing PJs & flipflops, 

i still wear my heels even if there's only about 8 other people who can see me!

only to indulge myself playing dress-up and to take that chance, 

that maybe, just maybe, me & hubby are goin' somewhere else after work.

not that we don't have a social life, just that work sometimes gets a bit tiring 

that all we wanna do after is go home [we love home]

and on that note, we got off work around 9pm!!!

with me sooooo hungry, starving even…

but warren [my husband] seem to always have some last minute thing to do 

that takes around 20 to 30mins, even more and he zones out while he's into it 

& it leaves dinner no other choice but to wait. 

am not saying he's not doing anything important, 

and not that waiting is that tedious cuz i take that time to do my own s**t…

there's this new "ribs" place just 2 blocks away from the office.

every time we pass by around dinner time, it's packed! which got us curious.

and tonight, we were in luck [at least we thought so] cuz the place only had 2 tables filled.

and just our luck, their specialty "ribs" ran out!!! 

{really?! their specialty?!}

i could have been a total b**c* about it 

but thank god my exhaustion from the day's work triumphed over me…  

and as hungry as we were, we couldn't think of any other place to eat.

warren ordered their chili wings while i ordered their bucket of chili crab claws.

[and i just have to say, i don't get to eat as much seafoods as i want at home cuz warren don't eat seafoods!]

took me thirty minutes to finish my crab claws, and they were yummy!

that should make me lucky again, i guess.

maybe the next time we come back, am trying the whole crabs, and not their specialty "ribs".
